I'm 13. I lost 20 pounds in the beginning of school and one of my teacher complimented me on my weight lose. If you are 70 pounds over weight, 20 pounds off is noticeable but WON'T make a big difference. I you are 30 pounds overweight, it will make a HUGE difference.
The best weight is to use common sense. Stay away from the foods you know have fat. Turn your negatives into positives. I used to watch a lot of TV, so while I was watching TV I would get physical. I would run in place or do jumping jacks. After doing it for the first ten minutes, you forget you are running. And most pastas give your energy but not that much nutrition.

I dropped:

1st week- 6 pounds
2nd week- 4 pounds
3rd week- 4 pounds
4th week- 3 pounds
5th week 3 pounds

20lbs. make a huge difference.

It depends on how much physical activity and what you are eating to determine how long it will take. If you are not at all physically active and eating badly, a new, healthy diet and frequent (read at least 3 times a week) exercise should take it off fairly quickly. If you are moderately active and eat mostly well, it will take a bit longer.

Also, 20 lbs. can be a factor of whether someone has health issues like diabetes and cholestrol. Lowering your weight by just ten lbs is said to have a tremendous effect on these things, not to mention help you feel more alert and energized.

I suggest you not go for a quick fix, fad diet though. A longterm, lifestyle change is better and more healthier and it will help you keep the weight off instead of gaining it back.

When my boyfriend and I broke up last year i became very depressed and had trouble eating. I basically stopped eating and lost pretty close to 15 -20 lbs. I dropped from a size 4 to a size 1/2. Everyone was scared for me, they thought that was a really sick and that I looked TOO SKINNY! I wasnt too skinny, I was only 120 lbs, but my family wasnt used to be being that thin. Anyway, I am back to my normal weight again (which is 140) and people can definately tell the difference.

It only make a difference if you keep it off. If you put it back on you'll get depressed about it I know I do it all the time. How you do it is by training your metabolism and sticking with it. Try to make your big meal of the day at noon not night also no snacks before bed. Besides that eat right you shouldn't need special meals or a plan just eat healthy and do not gorge yourself, You can have a snack here and there just make it healthy.

Oh my gosh, 20 lbs. makes SUCH a difference! My sister lost 65 pounds in a year, and she didn't do any of that hard core stuff, so 20 lbs. would probably take 3-4 months. Just eat right, take walks regularly, lift some weights, and don't sit around all day. Let me tell you though, it IS hard to do. You just have to never give up!

Makes a huge difference. I lost 18 pounds in 4 months. I just ate smaller portions and chose lots of healthier foods instead of sodas and candy. You have to remember to allow yourself a treat once in a while. Don't deprive yourself of your favorite foods. I also exercised.

I had to change my lifestyle and make working out part of it, and eating more vegetables and less meat. It makes a big difference though in how you look and feel.
