Yes, of course boys can play with dolls. It's not a bad thing, not all boys have to be into trucks/cars/video games/etc... It's a good thing, that means he is a sensitive little boy, and that's always good, or he could be going through a phase.

Yes they can!

I think that it is better to let your child play with a toy that they actually like and are interested in than to force them to play with something that is more "gender appropriate".

Playing with dolls can teach boys to be nurturing and all that but despite what other people have said it will not cause them to be gay...

Sure..why not? They are more apt to play with baby dolls at a very young age but as they get older, they play with "action figures" which is a "manly" word for doll.

Of course! It's funny how nobody thinks much of girls playing with trucks and such - but if a boy picks up a doll - oooooooooooooh. He's gay.

And even though it doesn't necessarily mean he's gay - so what if he is???

Little girls are allowed to be "Tom Boys" - why can't little boys be "Jane Girls" - it's all about the machismo in our society - which is just silliness - if you ask me.

of course. both my sons had a doll or favorite stuffed animal.
one was a "my buddy doll" a little boy doll and my son loved him.
my daughter has played with cars, trucks, play tools, etc.
my children are just fine.

Sure, why not? I bought my son a Cabbage Patch Kid doll, and he took one look at it and went for the truck. However, I think it's important to teach boys to be nurturing and caring and dolls are a good way to foster that. We have to counteract those testosterone washes they received in utero. :)

My babysitter's sons had Cabbage Patch kids, and they grew up to be mean SOBs, so I think it has little effect on masculinity or nurturing skills. Toys have less effect than the home environment.

Why not? If that's what they want to play with then why not? I mean who makes the rules anyway as to what is right or wrong?
