Creating everything else and he may be still at it.

That is just as humorous as if my little kitten asked the question:

What were these human beings, especially my master, doing before I was born?

Explaining to him would be just as helpless as God trying to tell us about His activities in the whole universe. For thousands of years we have barely scratched the surface of this planet.

Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, "[There is] no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.

But if yoiu are serious, just wait until we get into the other side of life in the new earth.

2:14 For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.

The real tragedy is that some people are so eager to know the truth and science, they make some observation, make their conclusion, and thought they are above God already, or know everything about God. They should actually try to be in heaven when their thirst for knowledge will be satisfied throughout eternity. But many won't be there. Just like many cats and dogs will not be able to grasph and understand fully and enjoy the blessings of this wonderful machine called computer even if they stretch their necks long enough to be as tall as I am and be able to look at this monitor screen.

Job 37:5 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend.

Proverbs 9:8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise [man], and he will love you.
9:9 Give [instruction] to a wise [man], and he will be still wiser; Teach a just [man], and he will increase in learning.
9:10 "The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One [is] understanding.

Notice that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, so if we do not start acknowledging the Lord or God, we haven'st even started to be wise. We are just fools.

Now, starting in verse 2, the first chapter of the Bible expands on verse 1. Verse 1 says that God created the heavens and the earth, and starting in verse 2 we find out how.

"And the earth was formless and void and darkness was over the face of the deep, or the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light. God saw that the light was good and God separated the light from the darkness and God called the light day and the darkness He called night, and there was evening and there was morning, one day. "Then God said, 'Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters and let it separate the waters from the waters,' and God made the expanse and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse and it was so. And God called the expanse heaven and there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

God = Love

Therefore, if God is love, then love needs something to love. So, God created the Angels. This love was good. Still, God felt his love is so good that it needs to shine on more than the Angels, and God created the Sun, Stars, and Earth (Genisis). Love bubbled even more when the bacteria, fish, and reptiles were created. Finally, God's love prompted him to create mankind.

Even the Angels ponder "What is Man"? In fact, it is said that the creation of mankind prompted Satan to leave heaven since he didn't want to bow down to us.

Before He created us? Well He was I AM. So first He had to create space, then He created the Heavens, then He created the angels, then He separated light from darkness, then He created the world, and He separated the land from the waters, then He created all the animals, then we were His last masterpiece. He let us be last so the next day all we had to do was rest.

Depends which day. He had to create the earth, the moon, the stars, the creatures that roamed the earth and the creatures that flew in the skies. Then he created the day and the night. Once he had the infra-structure in place, he created us in his own likeness.

Good Question... Wait.. no.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

Nothing. He just started creating. He is the creator. He's always exsisted. We humans can't really understand ... eternity. Forever. Not just future. But past, and present.

Creating the UNIVERSE

That's a question that no one can answer. The bible doesn't say what God did before He created the world, so the question can't be answered. Only God Himself knows.

Obviously, before God created us he was playing World of Warcraft trying to become so powerful when he created humans they would term the really good players as "god"-like referring to His name.
