I was friends with one of them because we just made better friends but since he settled down his new g/f won't let him talk to me. Not even in e-mails : (

My ex and I were together for about 3 years, split up 2 times over the 3 years but we stayed friends, missed each other and kept getting back together. I was thinking I wanted back together b/c I loved him, then I thought it was only b/c I missed him. Now, I don't know! We haven't talked since Sept. 06. I actually emailed him today just to see how he was doing. Staying friends with an ex can be tricky. Especially if it was as serious as my relationship was!

I am still friends with most of my exes. Just because it doesn't work out between the two of you as mates doesn't mean you can't be friends. You should try to remain friends just so that everything can remain on good terms. Why develop enemies.

Well, I am, I am always friends with my ex. Except if the ex did something to break us up, which I had one ex do that, but he is now married, which I hope his wife knows what he was like before he meet her or even while he was with her.

I am still friends with my ex but it isn't a pretty relationship because he is always asking me to go back out with him and I won't because he cheated on me and broke my heart. I don't want him to do it again so why date him if you think he will do it again. But back to your question. I would say that it is up to you if you are friends with your ex or not.

I'm not friends with any of my exs anymore. The things that tore us apart and the resentment was too much for us to put behind us and be friends again.

I stayed friends with one of my exes for quite a while but then I never had any real feelings for him. It is possible to be friends but you need some distance and closure first.

I am only friends with one of them. The one that I had no sex life with. There is one I'd like to be close with, but like someone else said, you need distance and closure with first and I don't believe we've had enough of that yet. He is getting married soon and not so sure I want to hear the details. Down the road, maybe....

nah, no reason to be friends. ex's usually don't have your best interest in mind which makes for a bad friend. they will on the other hand suck the life right out of you if you let them.
