I am currently working a big house remodel, in addition to that I am planning on going back to school full-time this summer and now my husband and I thinking about adopting and starting that process in the next month or two.

Advice? Suggestions for balacning this schedule?

Has anyone else out there completed college while raising a child?

Let me add, the adoption process will take roughly a year to complete (we've been told it could even be longer). In this time of gathering paperwork and waiting the remodel will be done. My school schedule will allow me flexible time to spend with a child and I have wonderful parents who I know would insist on sitting for us.

Go for it, if you want.
Just remember that it may difficult studying with a kid in your life. If you are practically done with college, then finish college up first and THEN get a child. If you feel sure that you can manage to raise a kid while going school, then get the kid.

If you feel as if the schedule is going to be very busy you might want to hold back on some things. You don't want to overload yourself with too much stuff. So with that said, I don't think you need help on balancing the schedule since you feel sorta sure about all of this.

All the best!

A year to complete the adoption process? Unless you're adopting out of the country, most people wait closer to 5 from the time they start all the paperwork to the time they have a child in their arms. I'm thinking you'll be ok.

I would wait until things calm down a little before adopting. Adoption is a big adjustment for all involved, and you will want to be able to focus on the child, and not be stressed over school, or the house remodel. Adoption is a very consuming process and takes alot out of you, while it is nice to have things to keep you busy and distracted through the waiting of adoption, you don't want to stretch yourself too thin!

If I were giving you a baby and saw what your schedule is I'd make sure you didn't get your hands on any baby. You decide, school, work or a baby. I said OR........ this is a child you are talking about not a puppy. Don't tell me you'll get a child and then you'll sock it in daycare and let total strangers take care of it. Get a dog not a baby!

Nah, there will be a team of folk there to shelter her. I additionally do not understand why human beings replied with all the racial jokes, or why individuals replied with "She won't stay interior the White homestead!" She'll have an place of work there and be there continuously, whether she does not certainly stay there.
