If you drink vodka and diet drinks, then you aren't getting much calories - of course your body might not be burning much off either. But if you get sick from too much vodka, its like you skipped a whole meal - maybe 2 if you feel bad the next day!

Just don't drink! If you're on a diet then you should be on a diet to become more healthy, not just to lose weight. Water is far better for you and will help you lose weight. Another great thing about water, you can drink all you want and it won't make you look like a complete idiot or get you into any kind of trouble what-so-ever (unless it makes you really have to pee, then maybe we have another situation ;p).

Here's a way to figure out calories per drink

1.5 oz in a standard jigger. There are 7 calories in each gram of alcohol. To figure out how much alcohol is in a particular beverage, take the % alcohol figure and multiply it by .8 because alcohol is less dense than water..
2 ounces of 80 proof liquor.

2oz=60grams...
60 gramsX 40%= 24 grams...
24 gramsX .8=19.2 grams....
19.2 gramsX7 calories= 134 calories

Vodka, vodka, vodka. With a no-calorie mixer, such as diet coke. It's not the tastiest drink in the world, but it's extremely low in calories, and low on the glycemic index (sugar). Of course, when trying to loose weight, it's best to not drink at all. Bummer =(

Stick with hard alcohol. Stay away from beers, wine and liquors and mixed drinks that have fruit juice.
