Someone in our household bought a lot of tea in tea bags... he drinks it when he's sick, but there is a lot left and I know they're at least a couple of years old... should they still be safe to use?

Tea doesn't really go "bad". Although, it can lose flavor over time. A couple of years isn't really that old, believe it or not, for tea. They should be fine for another couple of years, as long as they are not in a damp place. If they have gotten moist, though, throw them out, because it can mold.

No, this is not unsafe in any respect. I recommend, how would desire to or not this is once you're getting the flavour from those leaves itself?? If it replaced into risky, it does not make a distinction in case you have the unfastened tea leaves or steep it with the tea bag! have confidence me. It wont do something on your physique. in case you like it, delight in! If not, get your self yet another tea bag! Lol.

Safe ...yes...but unless he stored them in a zip lock bag or some air tight container they will be weak or stale. And after a couple of years...I'd throw them out and buy new ones.

they are safe, they just might not taste as good as they did in the beginning; a tea afficionado would tell you to throw them out for sure, but they aren't dangerous, just not at peak quality anymore.

Just keep them in a cool dry place and make sure they don't get wet and they should last for a few years.
