Went to TGI-Friday's and they have a new Jack Daniels bourbon sauce and I am trying to figure out the ingredients. I know that it has bourbon in it, but when I went to the liquor store I got confused. They had Jack Daniels Bourbon Whiskey, but I never saw just Jack Daniels Bourbon. Does Jack Daniels make just a bottle of Bourbon or is Bourbon always with whiskey? I appreciate any help you can give. Also if they do make two seperate types of bourbon, what would be the difference (such as more powerful, milder). THanks.

You're close.
All bourbons are whiskey...not all whiskies are bourbons.
Just to be pedantic...JD is not a bourbon (as previously mentioned) but because of HOW it's made, not WHERE. It's called "Tennessee Whiskey" because its process of being made happens to be specific to it and only one other whiskey which is also made in Tennessee (called the "Lincoln County Process" or as the ads say "charcoal mellowing")

If you're not a seasoned bourbon drinker, one brand of bourbon isn't going to make much difference in your recipe as compared to another. And if you cook with it, even less difference will be evident. In TGIF's JD sauce, there's an awful lot of sugar and spices and other seasonings to the point of whatever whiskey you choose to recreate it with will barely make a noticeable difference.

Bourbon is a type of Whiskey that is only made in Kentucky. Jack Daniels is made in Tennessee.
The higher the proof higher the alcohol content and the more of a bite it has.

Don't tell the folks in Bourbon county, Kentucky that Jack Daniels is bourbon cause they may shoot at you. Jack is whiskey. Bourbon is aged for at least two years in brand new charred oak barrels in Bourbon county, Kentucky.

Bourbon is a type of whiskey. It is called "Bourbon" because it originated in Bourbon County, Kentucky.

My local supermarket sells TGIFriday's Jack Daniels sauce; perhaps your supermarket does as well. Look in the condiments section of your supermarket, along with the other barbecue sauces.

For American Whiskey to be called Bourbon it has to:

i) be made of at least 51% corn

and

ii) be aged in brand new charred oak barrels for at least two years in Bourbon County, Kentucky.

Scotch is from Scotland. Whiskey is from Ireland, US, Canada, etc. Champagne is from Champagne, Cognac is from Cognac, Bourbon is from Bourbon.

JD is a Tennessee Sour Mach Whiskey.

Bourbon is whiskey made in the state of Kentucky (in white, charred-oak barrels), aged in special ways, and special in other ways, and if you're really interested in it you can find plenty of reading in various places online. Jack is made in Tennessee. Bourbon is named after Bourbon County, in the heart of the "Bluegrass" country, in the center of Kentucky. (...named after French royal family, county seat Paris)
