tell them what it did to me... i'm sorry but the act of spanking me bare bottom was HUMILIATING!! and i did suffer sever effects of almost a sexual dysfunction afterward. i couldn't be naked in front of anyone.. not even my ex husband, dr. anything with out cringing and feeling violated even if i wasnt' being touched. I'm sorry but spanking a 12 year old is a bit much and she's a bit old for them anyways; but bare bottom spankings at any age... i classify as sexual abuse as it can cause irreprable damage later on.

I do believe in spanking. And I believe that spanking on the bare bottom gets the best results. But,I am concerned about a couple of things.

You say she is spanked "nude". It is only necessary to bare her fanny. If someone is making her completly disrobe this is sick. And I think I would tell them that.

While age 12 is getting up there--she is not too old to get a spanking if a childish punishment is called for. If they have always given bare bottom spankings it would be pretty ridiculous to go back to one over pants.

However, you say the "parents" spank her that way. I think at that age only her mother should be giving her a bare bottom spanking.

And the spanking should always be done in private. And in this case that means just Mom and her daughter.

So, if those kind of things are going on, maybe you should bring the subject up. But, as far as the spanking goes--a bare bottom spanking of a 12 year old is within the discretion of the parents in disciplining and is not considered per se abuse in any state.

Call your local Child Protective Services and ask them what the rules are in your state. They help guide you on what to do next. It isn't illegal to spank your kids unless you leave makrs and 12 years old is MUCH too old to be spanking a nude bottom. This could leave serious mental damage and could actually be sexual on the parent's behalf

I think a good talk with her parents should suffice. It is not a 'normal' pattern of behavior in adults. The fact that she is 12 makes it even more notorious. Is there no other form of discipline that can be used? Do you see a pattern of enjoyment in either of the parents involved? How often is this done. How did you become privy to this information? Does anyone else know about this conduct? See what I'm getting at? It is not healthy for anyone involved especially the pubescent girl! Definitely have a talk with her parents.

I'm against spanking at all, but it isn't illegal, and clearly the spanking is not the issue here. At 12 she is practically a young woman! This has got to be totally humiliating for her, and it's likely illegal. As someone said, call child protective services. I realize they are family, but it's everyone's responsibility to prevent child abuse. Let the authorities sort out the details of whether there is sexual abuse or simply abuse going on here.
