A & B is pretty common, both negative and positive. O is the blood type that is rare. Maybe its due to something else. She should go see her doctor.

A-neg is about 7% of the UK population (incidentally I am one myself...), so its relatively rare but the rarest, as B-neg, AB-pos and AB-neg are even rarer.
Is this your daughter's first pregnancy? Just asking as if her partner is rhesus-positive and its her second pregnancy it could be that her foetus is rhesus incompatible?
Rh(D) positive cells contain a substance (D antigen) which can stimulate Rh(d) negative blood to produce harmful antibodies that destroy red cells. The harmful antibody is called ‘anti-D’ and can be produced if a mother is Rh-negative but her baby is Rh-positive. Rhesus incompatibility doesn’t occur with first pregnancies because the antibodies aren’t present in the mother’s blood. However, in subsequent pregnancies, if the babies are rhesus positive, there may be a problem. The mother’s antibodies will cross over the placenta into the baby’s blood and, regarding it as ‘foreign’, will try to break it down.
However, I would have expected any half-decent hospital to have done a blood test to determine this early on?!
Check the NICE guidelines for routine prophylaxis of rhesus negative women.

A Negative blood is not that rare really - I can't remeber the statistics but I am A negative and I seem to re call it was the Bs or ABs that were rarer. Surely your daughter is feeling tired because she is pregnant.

Blood type A can receive blood types A & O safely.
Blood type B can receive types B & O.
Blood type O can receive only O blood but are "universal donors" because O is acceptable to all other blood types.
Blood type O is the most common blood type worldwide.

The differance in white to red blood cells difers between blood groups. Negative blood groups hold less oxygen allowing fevers and high blood pressure to be a problem.

my sister in law is negative and her husband is positive.
they usually have trouble in the pregnancy as the female body tries to get rid of the baby by making the mother unwell as the baby has a positive blood type and so is seen as a 'virus'
i hope that made sense to you
good luck anyway!
