Well, Rocky's last title fight was in 1983 vs "Clubber" Lang. December 25th 1985 he fought Capt. Ivan Drago, giving up his title because it was non-sanctioned. The title was then awarded to Union Caine, who was defeated by Tommy Morrison. He got his *** whooped by Rocky, but in a street fight, not a boxing match. This bout was merely an exhibition bout that Rocky didn't want to lose. Remember Celebrity Boxing? Just because you step in a ring with gloves doesn't mean you are boxing, it is only an exhibit. So, he actually HAS been retired for 20+ years. I do not believe there'll be a 7, or Rocky Balboa 2 (LOL). In all honesty, I'd watch it too. I do think Rocky has hit the end this time, so everyone, you need to rebuy the complete box set :P

Yes. I think I've heard Stallone say that this was the last Rocky movie that he will make. In addition, As a salute to the first film, Rocky loses the fight in a split decision. However, he exits the arena as the decision is read - the outcome does not matter to him. It is the mere fact that he lasted ten rounds with a much younger and faster opponent that has helped Rocky to drive out the demons inside. The movie ends with Rocky speaking at Adrian's graveside. In a nod to "Rocky II", he says the famed line "Yo, Adrian, we did it." He leaves a bouquet of roses on her headstone, and walks away. As the film (and series) concludes, the final image sees Rocky, in a distance, waving to Adrian's grave before finally fading out himself. The credits roll next to real-life footage of individuals running up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and finally ending with Rocky running up the steps one last time as the credits freeze with a background of Rocky facing outward from the museum.

It's clear that the series has concluded based on this "shout-outs" to the previous movies. It's come full circle, kids.

Aww, that was just an exhibition match. Those don't count. ;-D

Until Rocky has something more important to him than boxing, though, there's no way for him to completely give it up. Maybe if his kid did something that required his undivided attention and support, that would work. Otherwise, part of Rocky's heart will always be in the ring.

He is in good shape for somebody who is 60. I thought, at the time I heard he was making this one that, why is he doing this. He is showing his age but it turned out to be a hit at the box office. I think he should quit while he is on top like Ali should have.
