Anxiety based psychological disorders are like a battle against yourself. It's kind of like blaming a crippled person for not walking, but you have to really be strong for yourself, develop a good attitude, and really, although it's a cliche, think outside the box. You can blame your disorder or you can conquer it, who would you rather be?

I am going through the same problems as you. I can understand how overwhelming everything is. Things will only get worse if you do not get help. I know it sounds scary, but you really need to see a therapist and go on medication. Trust me, you will feel SO much better. You're only 16. You have time to get help. If you get help soon, you will have a bright future ahead of you. The more time you sit and cry and think about how bad your problem is, the more time you are throwing away that could be used to get help and work on your school and future. You can achieve anything you want in life, the only thing holding you back is your depression and other issues. Good luck. Email me if you need someone to talk to.

How bad was your anxiety before you were on the medication? Mild? Severe? How long have you been on the medication now? Just a few days? If just a few days, it will take awhile for the medication to fully help (ask your pharmacist) . . . . . or it may end up that the medication won't help at all, and may actually have some side affects you don't like. Please pay attention to any side affects you may experience and keep in touch with your doctor about this.
If your anxiety is mild/moderate, there may be more natural, alternative ways to deal with it. My son uses different things to distract him when he is suffering a little anxiety. He is gradually finding out what works for him in successfully managing it.

You know what, I was on every medication on earth for anxiety and depression and i felt worse. When i got pregnant i stopped the medication adopted a very healthy diet, no sugar and caffeine and i exercise every day and i have had no anxiety at all, plus you have to realize that anxious people tend to exagerrate every small thing, just try to go with the flow. this might not be the answer for everyone but it has been 3 years and i have never felt better, don't quit your meds unless you talk to your doctor though because i'm sure some people really need meds, every one is different

Are you talking to anyone about this while you're on the meds ie: doctor or therapist ? Meds are great if you need them, but if you have a problem that is causing the anxiety, simply taking a pill won't get rid of what's causing you the stress in the first place. You need to find some sort of coping mechanism, and the best way to start is to tell yourself that it isn't "you" - it's the outside factors that make you feel this way.
It can even be that your brain chemicals are out of whack, which in turn makes you feel the way you do.
If you can get a copy of "Brain Lock" - read it. It helps with anxiety, OCD and other "imbalances" and it helps you to realize that it's not you, but the chemical imbalance that's causing the problem.
We all have stress - there's no getting away from it, but dealing with it emotionally, takes alot of the burden off.
*warm hugs*.

You need to get a 2nd opinion on the medications you are taking and make sure your parents are involved. You need to do a lot of research on your condition because Zoloft has been known to have depressive side effects for teenagers. That on top of your anxiety tendencies can cause you to become suicidal. You need advice from a professional.

Someone on here made a point and asked when anxiety got to be the disease, rather than the symptom. It makes sense to find out what's causing the anxiety- it could be physical.

The meds will be a big help, but you have to take a long hard look at yourself and determine why it is that you get so anxious, only then can you look at means of coping

stop taking life so friggin seriously and stay off all those prescription drugs or you'll turn into a zombie...and get a hold of yourself for crying out loud...what the heck could be so daunting in your life that you need therapy and drugs? stop being so self-loathing and figure out how to better yourself..
