Seems like I just get settled in a new religion and someone comes along and blows it away. This makes the 12th one so far.

Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

Counterfeit Christianity is probably the best description I can give for a cult. Counterfeit Christianity is an imitation of real Christianity. Bible terms like "Jesus Christ, Resurrection, Salvation, and Atonement" are used by the Cult, but entirely different meanings have been assigned to these terms by the various cult groups.
Like counterfeit money which is sometimes difficult to detect, so it is difficult to detect counterfeit Christianity, since it looks like the real thing. Experts examining counterfeit money often hold it up to a strong light and look for identifying marks. Counterfeit Christianity also has identifying marks which can be seen when held up to an even stronger light, the light of God's word, the bible.
We are at an advantage if we know what to expect from a cult. Cultists are very well trained to appear "Christian", and indeed believe they are the true church, and you need the deliverance! Therfore, be bold and ask the question, "Do you believe the group you represent is the only true church on the face of the earth?"
If they reply that they are, or if they are evasive, making remarks like "Well, every church has a measure of truth but...", you have made an early detection of a Cultist.
Every true Chistian, if asked the same question, regardless of his denomination, would reply that the true church is comprised of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, and HE (not some organization) is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE, (John 14:6). No legitimate denomonation would claim that they alone and their members have salvation exclusively, but the cults (the counterfeits) do.

Mormons being the answer via South Park is contradictory to the episode vs their beliefs. Mormons do not believe in Hell the same way most Christians do. They only believe in the sons of perdition which will be 10 or less, therefore, if they were right then they wouldn't be in hell to find out.
As for your religious search, you need to follow your heart, religion is about spirit not debate. When you find what is right for you, you will feel it. Or maybe you are to scientific. Which is okay too.
I myself found a home in my own version of Wicca, which is a very flexible religion with lots of room for personal belief.
There are lots of choices out there, don't sweat it if you don't find something that suits you completely. The most important thing is that you try to be a good person. What god would persecute you if you stick to that?

It appears that from what you say "truth" or accuracy is important to you. That is good. Keep up your search for truth and accuracy. If the universe has a creator...if life has an inventor and designer, there would be established touchstones and truths. What we like, or what we choose to think about a creator or a relationship with him, makes very little difference UNLESS we are actually pleasing the creator. Because nothing has more credibility, turn to the Holy Bible. Look at it differently than perhaps you looked at it before.....let it speak to you instead of having it interpeted by others.....there are 2 keys to unlocking the Bible truths......1) never pull a belief from the context of scripture. and 2) harmonize your belief with the Bible as a whole in it's entirety.

Regarding #1....learn about the context....understand who is talking, what he is talking about....who is he addressing? What are the circumstances?

Regarding #2......whatever conclusion that you draw from your study ....if someone comes along with a different conclusion and perhaps a scripture which APPEARS to contradict your understanding....then perhaps someone needs to adjust their thinking....(either him or you)....but the Bible does not contradict itself like some people think it does.

What was your new religion? And who and how was it proved false? If you are searching for truth, then you are on the right track. If you are searching for a religion, then good luck to you. Keep looking. Use your own judgement. Don't listen to others.

My personal favorite religion is Buddhism. The reason is that the Buddha encourages us to seek truth, and use our own judgement, and follow our own destinies.

What is right is relative to the person looking. Personally, I am not fond of any religion. I am open as long as the religion does not claim to be the only way to God. There are many paths, or no path, to God.

Well just go to the one that you believe in most. As long as it is based on believing in God i doesn't really matter what religion you are in.
