Yes they can work. Relationships take a lot of hard work to keep them alive, and when they are long distance it takes 5 times the effort to make it work. I have had two failed LDR's but that was because neither of us were interested in making it work. I am currently in a LDR and things are really great. But it is because of the effort we put into it. You have to be in the right frame of mind about the situation, if you have a wondering eye, or lose interest to quickly, then a LDR is not for you. But if this person holds so many qualities that you admire in a partner the it is definately worth the try. My boyfriend and I talk several times a day and several hours a night and I have found that we get to know one another better than if we were side by side. You take conversation for granted when your next to the person. And then when you get the chance to be with this person after time apart, every moment feels like the first, and that helps keep the sparke alive.

I dont think they can work, thats just my opinion. A long distance relationship is based on 100% trust that she/he is doing only what they claim they are doing and most people at some point will want a relationship with someone they can see on a daily if not bi weekly basis at the least. And it surely wont work if youve never met this person in real life. I say find someone who lives near you that you can have an real relationship with that doesnt involve sitting on the phone or computer for hours talkin to one another.

It depends. Is this a new relationship or we're you in a relationship and one of you had to move away? I think they can work if you had time to build some history together. You know something to hold it together. It's important to know each other well before a long distance relationship can work. It will have a better chance of lasting.

Depends on the Distance. If your on 1 side of the city and your friend is on the other side say 30-50 miles away thats not so far. However if you say in NYC and she's in say the Phillippines then you'll have to take into account how often you'll be able to visit. Course then another thing comes into account if shes out of the country and you get serious do you have the money to go and live there or have the money for her to move here?

As long as both people agree on how they want the relationship to work. I just got done with a very one-sided long distance relationship, and that was hell! Long distance relationships are difficult, but I think they can definitely work with the right people!

Sure, but pretty much only if you establish a long term solid relationship first. Starting a relationship as long distance is (in my experience) bound to fail.
Currently (for the last 9 months or so), I've lived in a separate country from my wife. It's super hard, but we had a strong foundation that makes it possible.
Also, web cams help if they are an option for you.

yes.
only if you also think it's gonna work.
it's just a matter of patience, loyalty and trust. you don't need be suspicious to him/her if you had established a good and strong bond of relationship. now if you're thinking about making love, there's a concept named, 'self- sex play.'
don't be greedy, like I've said, it takes a lot of patience to make a long distance relationship work. and besides, there's no harm in playing with thy self. it's even safer.
I'm not really for love. some people say that long distance rel will not be possible if you don't love each other. as for me, love really sparks only when you're with your love. so if you really love her, you have to be loyal, patient to wait and at the same time, you trust him/her.
that's the real love.

Try eharmony.com. Put in your area. They will try to find someone for you in your area. It is about $20 to $30. I have had long distance relationships in the past and it doesn't work. Unless you want to have long distance phone bills.

yes, long distance relationships can work. but at the same time, remember to talk to her all the time. it's hard not seeing the one your crazy about, but if you remember your in a relationship and dont do anything out of line, it can work, just remember to stay in contact.
