I like this guy and my friend gave him a note from my side saying that. Now this guy is showing everybody the note and he is like " I don't even know this girl." And to top that, I went up to his friend and said, "I don't like your friend." Now that I feel like a typical moron, what am I supposed to do to proper this up???????

Find a way to talk to the guy in private because most guys carry on like idiots & have big egos whenever their friends are around. Start talking casually with him about anything (example- school, work, shared interests) & then find a way to add to the conversation that there was a lot of confusion about what happened- and see if you can straighten things out & start over.
