I was talking about it with one of my friends and he wants to buy a used one, but only if it's NOT AWD. I think they were, but don't know for sure.

yes 100% of them are as well as the upcoming r36. they all have vw's version of audi quattro which they call 4motion. a very good all wheel drive system. they only made it in 2004.

the car is fast, man. not subaru wrx sti or mitsu evo fast, but fast and as solid and road worthy as they get. im all in!!!!

if he does not want awd get a 2004 gli or gti. still nice, but different v6. its not the 3.2 it would be the 2.8 vr6 or the 1.8t. in other words not as much pony-power.

All of the VW R32s were AWD. Only the GTi's came in the FWD configuration.

There is a special difference between them. The transmision. R32 is 4Motion (4WD) while GTI is Front wheel drive. I own an R32. It is more beautiful and inspires more respect. I recommend you R32. The positive thing is that R32 will stay "stuck" on the road. Transmitting the power in the 4 wheels, wich makes the ride more relaxed at full power.

All R32's are AWD.

A VR6 -optioned GTi would be front-wheel drive only, though, and is a similar car.
