Jesus Christ identified as hypocrites persons who make gifts of mercy with showy display, who pray and fast to be seen of men, and who pick on the strawlike faults of their brothers but do nothing about removing their own rafterlike faults. Christ classified as such those who claimed to be God’s servants but who failed to discern the significance of the time in which they were living and the events that were occurring, while readily drawing conclusions from the appearance of earth and sky as to what the weather would be like.—Mt 6:2, 5, 16; 7:1-5; Lu 6:42; 12:54-56.
A hypocritical course cannot be concealed indefinitely. (Lu 12:1-3) Hypocrites are condemned by God as unworthy of life everlasting. (Mt 24:48-51) Therefore, a Christian’s love and faith must be without hypocrisy. (Ro 12:9; 2Co 6:4, 6; 1Ti 1:5) The wisdom from above is not hypocritical.—Jas 3:17.

A. Your question implies that Christians are hypocrites....in which a true Christian is not. To label someone as a hyprocrite means that you are saying that their life is characterized by hyprocrisy and a true Christian's life is not characterized by that evil. Are they hyprocritical at times? Yes...right along with every person who has ever lived on the face of this earth. What is the difference between a Christian who is hypocritical at times and a non-Christian is a hyprocrite at times? Nothing except the Christian knows he's hyprocritical at times, admits it, and seeks God for help to get rid of it, asking for forgiveness. The Non-Christian who is a hyprocrite at times, may admit it or mostly not admit it, and will never turn to God for help and forgiveness to get rid of it. Instead, he'll smugly sit back and point a condemning finger at all those "hypocritical Christians" and never realize that by pointing his finger, he proves conclusively that he guilty of the very hyprocrisy he is condemning...he's guilty of it and yet pointing his condemning finger as if he isn't. What is more hyprocritical than that? And,who is more honest? The Christian. Who has a better heart? The Christian.

Don't include all Christians. I'm sorry if you have been mistreated by self-proclaimed Christians in your family or area. Unfortunately there are a lot of Christians that use the religion as a badge of honor or status, and nothing more. Let me inform you that there are understanding and meek Christians out there. It's not anybody's fault if you haven't met one.

Let's see now, I think they would be sinners, just like the rest of the human race. I was once told this, "I would rather sit in church with a bunch of hypocrites on Sunday morning than spend an eternity in hell." Of course, you would have to believe in Heaven and hell, or the it's a moot point. Why even ask the question?

It depends on who you're talking about. Many religions put themselves under the term 'Christian', but are not. For example, Roman Catholics put themselves under that 'Christian' umbrella, but are not by any means Christian - they are paganists. Every ritual and tradition practiced by the RC church/empire is man-made - nothing biblical about any of their rituals. Orthodox is also another religion that misuses the term 'Christian' - their practices: rituals, etc. - are not Christian at all, but merely created by man - thought up in the minds of those who created that religion way back when. Any born again Christian that practices and teaches the truth according to God's word is NOT a hypocrit - only those who claim to be Christian or put themselves in under that name, but do not practice what is taught in God's word are the real hypocrits, so be careful about calling Christians hypocrits. It all depends on who you are talking about: RCs, Orthodox, etc. So, to answer your question, TRUE born again Christians are just that: Born again Christians - period - we're not hypocrits. How can we be such if we follow the one and only true word of God? To those who are a part of the RC church and other religions, they have been given a free will to do with what they will. All I hope for is that many will be enlightened by the grace of God to see the truth behind those religions, seeing that they are not biblical. I'm not judging anyone here, so please don't misunderstand me. I only go according to what God says is truth and what is not. I go according to the bible and follow God's truth - not mans' version of what's 'godly' and 'biblical'.

All humans are hypocrites, among other things. Christians just acknowladge this fact, and continuously allow the Father to mold them into who he wants us to be. Now, if you found out you had cancer tonight, would you all of a sudden want someone to pray for you? Me think so...

I love this site. It's such a free-for-all. You can bash me. I don't care. I wouldn't bash you even though you down us all because of things you've seen in afew. I'm no hypocrite. I work hard to practice what I believe and be kind to others. You could use alittle of that.

Their are hypocrites in every facet of life. Just because some christians have turned out to be hypocrites it doesn't mean all of them are.
