The general consensus is you can do very little to grow taller. But from what I've seen in this long life of mine some things always happen to make us question that assumption. For instance
when I was 13 or14, in my class was Jonna who towered over us. Suddenly it was reversed. He stopped growing and we became taller than him as 15 and 16 year olds.
Just look at Michael Jordan. In high school he was only 5' 9'' and couldn't make the basketball team. Suddenly his height surged. What happened? Was his desire and thought power so strong that it galvanized such a remarkable height surge later? Also, Arnold Swarzenneger described himself as once being a small, skinny runt. I don't need to say more. From my own experiences of intensely pursuing some visualization exercises and esoteric yoga practices taught me by a remarkable omniscient Indian guru, I really believe we have the capacity to perform changes in our bodies, appearance and in other ways. Mine, including facial features, changed quite dramatically in just a few months by pursuing the latter many hours a day. At the same time I was following a very strict and very healthy diet which I never wavered from and exercised a great deal, and lead a very healthy life style. I didn't get taller - I'm already that, but other changes that I wanted to happen, where very noticable as remarked upon by everyone. For instance: I looked much younger, had a more balanced(like everyone else left had differed from right side), much better looking face and had a completely changed personality, much more confidence and poised. Genetics do not absolutely determine anything. My parents were small - mother 5-'4" father 5'-7''. I am 5'-11.5'' and two brothers are taller. Remember that it's not your immediate parents that matter anyway - influences are from previous generations. There were tall (and short) ones in our family tree. Clearly, the Chinese and others have now become much taller than their considerably smaller previous generations - attributed to large changes in diet. But changes where over many generations. So though diet is of tremendous importance, to have a spurt in gaining height in one lifetime is not on the books. But I do believe anything and everything is possible! From my intense visulization and yoga prctices, which I still pursue, I believe that holds the most promise. Hope this is helpful. Hope you attain great heights! I can be emailed - (see profile)

Genetics determine how tall you will be.
In order for one to reach their genetic potential height, the body needs a certain amount of nourishment. This includes a balanced eating of vitamins that encourage growth proper exercising and adequate sleep.

Understand your body grows when it is at rest. Thats the optimal time when the body can restore the adequate balance of amino acids and minerals that encourage growth.
These are a few things you can to optimize your growth potential but ultimately genetics will determine how tall you are.

* Increase trace mineral intake
* Increase lean protein intake its broken down into amino acids faster
* No smoking or alcohol or narcotics because these stunt your growth
* Water intake should be your weight times .55 in ounces pure water preferably
* Increase the amount of vegetables you take in, possibly drinking vegetable juices such as carrot
* Decrease the amount of simple sugars such as sodas or candy
* Moderate your dairy intake
* Increase the fiber intake - whole grains, leafy green vegetables
* Sleep between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am - these are optimal hours for growth
* Exercise regularly and stretch often - cardio and resistance exercise and stretch all your body parts
* Increase anti-oxidant intake to fight off free radicals we take in everyday in the air and water
* Think positive thoughts - mind can control the body in ways that no one can understand.

High-intensity anaerobic exercise such as our grow taller stretching exercises, swimming, and cycling are shown by medical researchers to force the body into producing significant quantities of human growth hormone.

Exercise-induced growth hormone (EIG) is well recognized physiologically, and is caused from acid-base balance, catecholamines, nitric oxide, and lactate. Of these, the main causes of human growth hormone secretion appear to be nitric oxide and lactate. Both of which are produced by resistance training.

Your goal during stretching is to apply resistance-training stretches that will yield high amounts of human growth hormone secretion. Human growth hormone will thicken the cartilage, increase bone density, and make you grow taller. This is why we cannot emphasize enough the importance of the intensity you need to apply with each and every stretch to grow taller.

This means that you have to exercise for a minimum of 10 minutes with great intensity to increase your odds of growing taller. The intensity you build must be enough to lactate into your muscles for height increase. This lactate will activate growth hormone secretion even after exercise, during normal rest periods for longer than 24-hours! Your body literally becomes a growth hormone manufacturing machine to increase the possibility of any height increase!

No other method, supplement, or technique can possibly yield better height increase results than stretching exercises. All you need is to perform our stretching exercises correctly and you will grow taller.
