To know god means that you know his name, you believe in him, and you know about his history, and what he plans to do in the future. Yes I have a relationship with him. You can never stop getting to know God, it is a process that will never end. His knowledge, and the things that you can learn from the way he acts are things that will never stop to teach you.

Going on to another subject, why is it that you have never yet answered a question, and that you have only asked a question? Isn't that odd. Your first question in yahoo answers is asked in the last place people will normally visit when they are new. Well anyways welcome to yahoo answers!

This is really funny. You got ten answers to your very simple question. Does that answer your question? I know GOD. I have been turning my life over to him every day now for a long time and I pray about most things. I'm trying to pray about everything eventually. I get to Know GOD as I experience him through prayer and meditation and watching what he does and as he allows me to serve him in what he is doing. GOD is many things to me but mainly he is "Daddy" the same way I looked at my Dad when I was really young. In other words he takes care of everything if I let go long enough. He is in control no matter what happens here on earth. And if things get to bad he will just take me home for eternity. And all this just because I accepted Jesus finished work on the cross. It's a cool place to be. Its not brain surgery. We are born with all this knowledge. We just try to forget it as soon as we can.

Knowing God means recognizing that Spirit indwells you; that you have sensed something profoundly greater than your "consciousness" is IN you. Many human beings are too busy running their minds like they do their mouths to even begin to hear the still small voice of the Spirit within them; it's possible, but very rare.

The continuous need to distract oneself from reality is usually a sure sign of spiritual immaturity. Always on your cell, pursuing meaningless pastimes, etc. But a continuous failure to grow up-- intellectually and spiritually-- can only lead to personal disappointment and eventually disaster.

How to come to know God?
Revelation as a personal human experience is actually continuous. You must learn to listen, however. Just about any worthwhile meditative practice is usually sufficient to teach you to still your mind effectively enough to feel the Divine Gift within you. Faith reveals God in the soul. Revelation enables one to see the same God in nature that faith exhibits in the soul.

Once you have feelingly experienced the Divine within, you can get to work on your personal theology as you might choose; either some organized religious group, or a sincere devotion to your own personal religious experience (highly recommended), in the full confidence of knowing God lives in you, and is ever present to help guide you into all truth. Life is a day's work; do it well.

I think it means to experience Him, to talk to Him. Get to know Him like a new friend. We will never reach the end of things to get to know about God, so we just keep learning, I beleive forever.

I do belive, no, I KNOW I have a real relationship with Him. I talk to Him, He talks to me.

I always find it hard to beleive how small things are that He helps me with. Things like where to find things or people in a large (or even small) store, what to write when and how.

I pray that He will meet you in the same way, although it appears He has already.

The Right to Enter Paradise

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

It is the same as knowing anyone else. Relationships require effort, and God wants to be the most important person in your life; your best friend, the first person you turn to for advice or in times of need. Yes I know him, he has been so wonderful to me and has delivered me from drugs and much more.

yes, when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, your relationship with God becomes just that.....
PERSONAL.
The Spirit of God comes to dwell within you
and leads and guides you through the rest of your life.
You can talk to Jesus in a very personal way and know He hears you.
You can pray to Jesus and know He hears your prayers and, most important, He answers them according to His will.
I can personally attest to all of the above!
maybe the following will help you:
John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ (God in the flesh)
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

To know God is to know His Word.

God’s Word is His Spirit the Spirit of truth or the Holy Spirit.

Not the printed text but God’s will, plan, thoughts, wisdom, knowledge, and His feelings the printed text conveys.

For those of The True Christian Faith the existance of God is a reality. Because each one has had a personal contact with God. The contact with God is direct and personal. There is no doubt when it happens that it is very real. This dose not mean that it can be proven to any one who has not experienced it themselves. God deals with each one individualy and what he communicates is personal and usualy not intended for any one but the individual. But I can assure you that it is a very real connection and causes a Faith within the individual in the certainty of what God has given that individual. The relationship of those of The Faith is such that it can not be broken... God never will and the individual will never...because when one knows The Truth of God there is no way any deception could lure them from God...... I am not trying to say that God "talks" to those of The Faith, as in conversation, on a daily basis... God can, and dose audably communicat on occasion. And many have heard His voice, including myself. But it is rare and I do not expect that God will communicate that way with me again in this mortal life... but He could if he chooses to...... what matters, in regard to the "relationship", is that, because of the absolute certainty of The Faithful of God existance...because of The Truth of the connection to God at the instant of Salvation, it is known with certainty that God is always aware of the individuals circomstances. And that whatever God want for,or alows to happen to, the individual will be, ultimatly, for good. This gives, those of The Faith, strength to indure what ever they must in this mortal existance... Because we know God and we trust Him.
