No! He needs his nails cut. You can only cut a bit at a time, wait a week to 10 days, then clip again. Over time, the quick will recede (gradually) and you will be able to get his nails shorter. If you don't know how to clip nails, take him to your vet and get them to show you, then you can continue.

I believe that dogs can probably be declawed, but don't get that mixed up with the same thing as getting them neutered. Getting animals declawed is near inhumane and a horrible thing to do, especially to cats.

Just buy yourself a pair of nail clippers and cut his nails every two months, not that hard.

Hello. Cats have claws. Dogs do not have claws. Go to a pet store and buy a nail cutter and cut his nails. Avoid the quick which looks like a pink line along the middle of the nail. Many grooming places can do it for a small price and will be happy to show you how. Have a great day.

yes as a matter of fact, my fiance had a full bred king chow and his nails were the same way and he had to take the dog to the vet and then he would get them cut for quite a hefty amount of money but they would be able to get done, it would help sometimes if the dog were to be walked on the street every day it breaks the nails down some the vet said

lengthy nails on a dogs won't be able to have a tendency to make it very puzzling, uncomfortable and painful to stroll. I used to artwork at a vet's place of work and that i said human beings carry their dogs in who forgot about their dewclaws (the only nail larger up on the in the foot), and they could advance so long the position they extremely commence growing to be into the dogs leg or pawpad and this would reason an infection to commence. the present concern may be unrelated, so i might want to point installation an appointment on the vet's and allow them seem at it and be conscious if it truly is relative to the concern, and no matter if no longer, they could trim that foot even as she's in there for you.

To keep your dogs nails short u should walk em on concrete or make him run on concrete. Walking or running on concrete keep the dogs nails short.. Dogs shouldnt be declawed because the walk outside and without nails would hurt their paws.. Cats get declawed because they stay in at home and dont have to be walked.

Their nails can be clipped very easily in less than a minute for about $5 at the groomer. Then if you walk the dog on the sidewalk, it files them naturally and they grow back slower.

I don't think so, ask the vet. If the vet says no, then either hire a groomer to do it or buy clippers on vets reccomendation and learn to clip them your self. it will be more difficult if your dog has black nails, here is a page on nail trimming.

No, dog shouldn't be declawed. Why don't you buy a dremmel and trim his nails down? Or, if you don't want to do it.. take him to the vet. They trim nails for a $$ fee.

Good luck.

I don't think dogs can be declawed but you can always get your dog's nails trimmed at the groomer.
