I don't know where you are in WI but I went to Bay View dental years ago w/ no insurance. The dentist's name is Thomas Charapata and they will let you make payments. You might have to pay $30 bucks or so 1st visit but they are very understanding. I think I only paid like $25 a month.

Good luck!
Tooth pain is the worst!!
PS. People really shouldn't go around making assumptions of another's situation without knowing the details! Good luck to you and your family!

I know the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa have a very good dental program. It is where I went as a child to get braces on my teeth from student orthodontists and where I had my wisdom teeth pulled. The students are carefully supervised so you should be well cared for. They are a lower cost health care provider but also accept insurances. Think about medical college clinics in wisconsin and if you are close enough to drive, you could save hundreds by going to U of I dentist- it might cost you gas money but maybe you could phone ahead to get an estimate of the expense compared to a regular dentist. If you go too long and avoid the dentist you could end up having to go with all false teeth which would be even more headache to deal with.

If your kid is in college, a thought related to it:
If your income is somewhat low, he/she can receive financial aid? It definitely helped my family a lot.
The dental school option is really excellent, but most dentists do have payment plans and since it sounds like you'll be find in the spring, you might call around and see if someone has a decent plan. Most good dentists do.

Hmmm california has a program called MediCal which is medical insurance with little or NO cost on your part based on your income. Check with the welfare office in wisconsin or ask the family court department of your local court system if they have anything like this in place in your area.

Go to a dental school and cry poverty. Their interns are students there and learn "on the job" under the supervision of a dentist- professor. If it isn't free it will be based on ability to pay.

Check with the Marquette Dental School if getting to Milwaukee is an option. I don't know that it's free, but I believe it has reduced rates for those who qualify financially.

A lot of dentists have "care credit" which is a credit card for dental work. I use it for what my insurance doesn't cover. I've had major work.
Others (though not many) will work with you. You just have to do a lot of calling.
