In many cases, if you take it to the original jeweler where the ring was purchased, they will often do it as a service to you, often times charging you nothing, provided you use them to have the ring cleaned regularly, etc. It will generally take about a week if they are not busy. Taking the ring to another jeweler will usually cost you a small amount, for your needs, normally under $50.

It depends on what jeweler you take it to, but it's usually not too expensive to get a ring resized. It'll probably take around 1-2 weeks until it's done. I just had one resized for $9, and it was done in 10 days.

I went to a chain store to see about getting my engagement ring sized, (it isnt the store it was purchased from) and they estimated the cost at $45 canadian for white gold and around 35 for yellow.

I went to Gordan's Jeweler's in the mall at it cost me $20 and took 3 days. But you can do it at jewelry repair stores that do it on the spot at about $10. I had a gordon's warranty that would have been void if I went anywhere else.

it depends on where you bought the ring.. sometimes they offer a lifetime warranty - which will cover everything, resize, annual check up, etc. i got mine for free, my boyfriend bought it at Peoples and the resize was for free. i always get a free check up and rodium plating. usually it takes about 5-7 days for the resize and rodium plating, depends if they're busy or not.
