If he's not choking, the stomach acid should dissolve it.

If you can't get to the vet and even if you can, you might be in trouble. Chicken bones splinter which is why they are so dangerous.

My dog ate my glasses (stop laughing!) lol. He ate them lenses and all. My told me to give the dog canned dog food with some kind of oil mixed in...like canola oil or something. It was his contention that the high level of oil and the wetness of the dog food would help the sharp pieces 'pass' without serious injury.

Not sure if this really worked but the doge ate all kinds of things that were bad when we discovered did this same thing and he was always ok.

Best of luck!

First off I would definately give him a tablespoon of vegetable oil, and make sure that is the only type of oil you give him!!! The vegetable oil will coat his digestive track and help for a easier passage of the bone.
Secondly I would DEFINATELY call the vet, this isn't a little thing, my first dog died from internal bleeding after getting ahold of a chicken bone. You need to have an xray taken of the abdomen to make sure that it has not punctured anything.
Third, I would also invest in a garbage can that is sealable or make room for it in a cabinet. Cuz I can probably beat thats where he got his little treat from.

don't panic, sometimes the bones go through easily.
if it is a splintered (broken) bone, you might want to take the dog to the vet to be sure.
They will probably have to do an x-ray to make sure it doesn't go where it's not supposed to.

Depends on how worried you are, or how much money you want to spend.
Sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry.

Watch the dog carefully for signs of distress. I wouldn't freak out if the dog seems to be doing ok. If there seems to be an issue then call the vet.

All good things shall pass!

I wouldn't go to the vet. I don't go to the vet for every little dam thing.

First, did he chew it up and swallow it or did he just swallow it whole?

If he chewed it up, it will be ok. He won't die.

If he swallowed it without chewing it, just keep a close eye on him for the next 48 hours or so until it passes. If he starts gagging, or his gums get pale.. then, go to the vet.

Good luck. Let us know what happened.

First question to ask yourself is was it too big for him to digest. If he's not choking on it it should be OK. The stomach acids will probably take care of it.
if he starts gaging, or chocking, go straight to the vet.
Hope he's OK.
