The commands/words my dogs know are...
sit
don't move (stay)
come
get over here
up (on lap or furniture)
halt
down (lay down)
gimme five
high five
other paw
sit up
roll over
bang (this one is a work in progress)
go pee
your yard (this is what I said when training boundaries)
get back (when the front door opens)
go for a ride in the car/truck (they actually know which vehicle to go to)
go for a ride on the boat
swimming
dog park
get the squirrel
enough (when barking)
be quiet (keeps them quiet)
eat
food
cookies
bone
go get a drink (those hot summer days)
no
Kurt's home
wheres Nick (they start searching for him)
go get Nick up (my Lab jumps on his bed and licks his face)
leave the cats alone (taught that one when I got the JRT mix)
time for bed
get down (off the bed)
get your head in (when in the car)
They know all the above mentioned and then some because I talk to them all the time. It's not that I specifically taught my dogs all these words, it was simple repetition. Also, they are 2 (JRT/Beagle) and 3 (Lab/Pointer) years old.
They both know all the above commands and words. It just goes to show that it's not always the difference in breed...

Puppies coach us many things ..... How am i able to opt for only one? I discovered this list on the net one day... Hope you enjoy it. The whole thing i know, I discovered from my dog: 1. When loved ones come house, normally run to greet them. 2. By no means move up the opportunity to move for a joyride. Three. Enable the experience of contemporary air and the wind for your face to be pure ecstasy. Four. When it is in your first-rate curiosity, practice obedience. 5. Let others comprehend once they've invaded your territory. 6. Take naps and stretch earlier than rising. 7. Run, romp, and play everyday. Eight. Thrive on concentration and let people contact you. 9. Avert biting, when a simple growl will do. 10. On warm days, stop to lie in your back on the grass. Eleven. On sizzling days, drink tons of water and lay below a shady tree. 12. When you're joyful, dance round and wag your complete body. Thirteen. No matter how usually you are scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout ... Run correct back and make acquaintances. 14. Pride in the simple joy of an extended walk. 15. Consume with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had sufficient. Sixteen. Be loyal. 17. On no account fake to be anything you are no longer. 18. If what you need lies buried, dig except you in finding it. 19. When any one is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by using and nuzzle them gently.

He knows
1. Sit
2. Shake
3. No
4. Easy (sometimes I see him start to bully the cats when they eat of his dish and when I tell him "be easy" he'll relax a little and wag his tail then I go move the cat)
5. Stop
6. Come here
7. Down (as if to get off the bed or couch)
8. Stay/Wait

My cousin had a dog many years ago. He'd make a gun with his hand, point his finger at the dog and say "bang bang". The dog would roll over on his back and play dead. Maybe not the most humane trick, but 20 years later I still get a kick out of it when I think about it.

How to you get the dog to go to a certain spot?
How does he know what toy to get?
But that is pretty impreesssive you taught him all that. He must not be a lab. Because they are dumb as rocks, and can't teach them any thing until about 2. What kind do you think he is.

One of my dogs (dead now) I put through a rigorous Police Dog training. There was much more but that was her basic training. She learned how to track down a suspect, scent detection, building search, crowd control........................ She was a red Doberman Pincer, her name was Kelly, she lived for 10 years.
All the dogs I own now are trained as fence dogs to alarm when there are trespassers. All but one has basic obedience.
I have trained a couple hundred dogs to do various things. I love working with dogs.

I taught my dog (a border collie) to beg.
This is by sitting and putting paws up in a begging motion.
She /never/ begs for anything, though.
Please note that this is a heard trick to learn!
I also taught her to speak.
