Be sure and apply it twice a day for 10 days, even if it looks like the red ring is gone, as the fungus will still be present. Don't put bleach on your kids head! Ring worm is a fungus easily treated with most over the counter antifungal creams and sprays. For a nasty case you might need prescriptions from a doctor. Lastly, how do you know it is ring worm? Could it be something else?

i just found out today that my 2 year old has it. i have been doing research and I saw that a lot of the over the counter drugs do work. i put some medicated oil on his head for tonight. i am going to the drugstore first thing tomorrow and getting some antifungal cream.

First you require a medical diagnosis of tinea capitis. There are plenty of OTCs that treat it plus some prescription antifungals. But before you start treating this yourself, you'd better know what you're dealing with. Too bad you didn't describe it. It's unmistakeable.

it is a fungus, not a worm. use lamisol for athletes foot - it is the same thing.
