If I have several different programs fr photos--does that mean the my pictures are on my harddrive that many times? example-have picasa,snapfish,mayb 2 more programs

No, it doesn't necessarily means so, as your photo will be shared by all photo edittin programs

no it need not b there morethan one copy... it really means thet u have many programs to view pictures. u can uninstall the programs which u dont need. keep only one to view pictures. remember that u can open a file in different programs at the same time.. just like u can open a text file(.txt) on MS-word, notepad, wordpad,etc.,

Depends how you setup your programs.

You can check by doing a search for a photo's file name and see how many times it comes up.

adobe photoshop 3.0 This is a good photo editing program. Its also free.( I think )
