You will need to learn which foods you can eat and which food will prevent you from losing weight. Generally low fat protein sources such as chicken, turkey, and fish, egg whites, etc. are good to eat. Red meat is fine once in awhile, but if you want to lose weight it is best to stay away from it for awhile because it is higher in fat. Fruit and veggies are obviously very important too. Never eat white bread or pasta. Eat whole wheat food such as Fiber One cereal. Many cereals are high in sugar and you should avoid sugar if you want to lose weight. Oatmeal is good too, but it has to be the large flake type, Not instant or pre-packaged flavour oatmeal because it has been processed and sugar has been added in the flavoured ones. You can add berries to sweeten the yogurt and add flavour. Weightlifting will also cause you to lose weight by raising your metabolism. The faster your metabolism is, the more calories you burn. Don't worry, weightlifting will not cause you to look like a bodybuilder. It will tone your muscles and your body will look sexy, slim and curvy. Nobody wants to look like Nicole 'Skeletor' Ritchie.
As you can see there is alot of work involved in losing fat. A HECK of alot more work than just doing sit-ups. If it was that easy everybody would be thin. I would say the first step would be not to think of it as a diet but more so a life style change think of a good time of day that you can do about 15-30 min of cardio( walking, jogging, or even jumping rope.) that you can do at-least 4-5 days a week cut back on sweets instead of total elimination you will progress as time goes on set aside 1 day you can eat out each week because if you don't you will be tempted to do it more than once a week try baking your foods versus frying and eating before 7pm is a positive thing to do . oh and this is also very important try to hold off on weighing yourself every week bi-weekly seems more better to me because while trying to loose weight it takes time and getting on the scale to often can make you discouraged and turn you away before you see the benefits(eight glasses of water a day) is very important

You sould eat a good breakfast dont wait too long after you wake up what this is going to do is make you organism start processing the food and burning calories. after two hours eat something light like a fruit, yogurt, cheese. something like this so you can keep you organism working then eat a good lunch with salad, try not to eat food made in oil. two hours later the same thing something light and then eat dinner try no to eat leter the 7pm but if after that you are so hungry you cant hold it drink a glass of milk 2% .
You should also know that exercise is good while your doing a diet .

first of all, i am not so sure of gatorade anymore! i used to thinkit was good too, then a nurse told me there was like 50 tablespoons of sugar in them! and i think that cryatl light is really the best to drink, i drinkit all day and it tastes so good! all of them do! a great snack is ham amd cheese roll ups( i get the virginia ham from the deli and whatever chees i feel like) it i sgoo dan dhardly any carbs if that is what you are staying away from. and i love carrots and ranch and snow cones made w/ just ice and crystal light. i am going on a sno cone crystal light diet this week! also, dont eat cereal whatever you do! any! the healthy you thinkit is, the more carbs it probably has! cereal isd the worst! well, i hope this helps! goo dluck!
