The HD service on Freeview (which is what you'll be getting on the television's built in tuner) is only available in the London area at the moment. It could be years before us lesser mortals in the sticks get it.
Don't smash the telly, it's not it's fault.
If you can't wait for HD then you can subscribe to it from Sky satelite.

HD ready refers to over the air and cable tv HD content. The XBOX is a direct source, it'd be just like plugging in a DVD or Bluray player, so yes - you can connect your XBOX 360 to the device and play in High Definition. HD ready typically referred to the early models that were as low as 1080i and as high as 720p - so try both of those settings. Good Luck

you will only get hd with a sky subscription to hd...
or a comp' dvd/disc
