I'm not sure, and I don't know what your question was, but I can tell you that I have two great uncles who managed to get syphilis sometime after world war 2. The disease made them both crazy and they were institutionalized for the rest of thier lives. I never asked for details, but I'm guessing that if left untreated, it can cause serious mental damage.
