Do a search on your computer for mplayer2.exe. That's the really old one.

Do you mean you are trying to go back form Version 11 to an earlier one?
When I wanted to get rid of version 11 to go back to 10, I simply went to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, clicked to uninstall Windows Media Player, and it automatically dropped it back to version 10 for me.

If you cant do that, it literally a case of completely uninstalling, and doing a web search for WMP 9 / 10, as there are plenty of sites out there that still have it available for download. Including Windows themselves.
