Actually a pound of fat and a pound of muscle weigh the same. A pound is a pound. However muscle is more dense than fat so you should notice that your cloths start fitting better. Four days is not a good indicator of progress. I don't think you could gain that many inches in such a short time. Stick with your program and give it a good six weeks. It will take that long to see a difference. Go to Beach body .com they have a lot of fitness programs to select from. Happy New You!!

Not sure why you are gaining inches when you are walking/running but the gain in lbs could be contributed to the fact that muscle weighs more than fat and therefore most people gain a few lbs before starting to lose weight.

Here is what you have to understand when weight traning or working out. When you are not working out you loose muscle weight and when working out you will regain or rebuild muscles which will cause you to gain weight. Plus the gain in the inches is also due to the muscles similar to the way Body Builders muscles protrude. Think about this, you are running which will cause your leg muscles, hips, glutes to get bigger because you are gaining more Muscle!
