Feeling alone like that or like the only one who understands what you are feeling is one of the problems of depression. Almost everyone that I have met has these same feelings when they are depressed. You are not alone and you are not the only one. But nothing I or anyone else says can change how you precieve the situation.

I am 24 and have been dealing with depression since I was 12 years old. For years I hid my problems from everyone thinking that no one would understand what I was going through. I can't tell you how many nights I spent sitting in the dark cutting my arms. Or how many times I have tried to kill myself cause I couldn't take the pain anymore.

I could write a book on my many experiences with depression, but like you feel that mine are unique to me and no one else can fully understand them. I think the best advice that I have discovered over the years is that it is okay to get proffessional help. It took me eight years before I did and I think that was eight years wasted. Even then it was another five years before I commited myself to staying in therapy for more than a month at a time.

Even if you are the only one who can fully understand what is causing you depression having someone to talk to helps.

I've been depressed since I was about 15, and I'm 54 now. For years I self-medicated (alcohol, pot) but finally got a good therapist who saw that I was depressed and sent me to a psychiatrist for an evaluation. I have been on anti-depressants ever since (19 years) and although I have occasional situational depressions, my life is pretty good. Some people are more susceptible to depression, and the winter mmonths(esp. in the northern part of the world) are notoroius for bringing on depression. (Look up Seasonal Affective Disorder)
No, you are not the only one...it just feels that way. When you are wallowing in the misery, it feels like you are the only person in the world who feels this bad and there is no light at t he end of the tunnel. Try to remember that you are not alone.
Talking to someone can help, or doing something that makes you feel happy about yourself.. If you are in college, there will be a counseling center. In High School, I know that have counselors, but don't know how good they are. I never let on to my parents how depressed I was in High School because my father was the main reason, and I think they were oblivious to the fact, and I would never have gone to them (or the counseling office) for help. But I had a close friend who was my teacher and her reassurance helped me. I hope you have someone you can lean on and that they can help you through this hard time. If you are the loner type who says "I'm the only one who can do this", then you are right...and you can do it. It's never easy, and it never goes away, but each difficult trial by fire you go through gets you ready for the next. We learn all the time. It's the only way we can grow. Good luck, and take care of yourself.

You are not the only one that has feelings of depression. I have had depression for about 6 years now. You have good days and you have bad days, but when you get over the bad days it makes every good day worth it. If you feel like you can't get over the bad days, then maybe you need to see a doctor. I hope that this helps.

That is a very very common effect of depression. I recommend spending more time in the sun, running, playing tennis, whatever. It works for me!

You are not alone, by far. Trust me. Stuff happens and life really stinks sometimes, but hey, that's life. Try to keep your head above water. Don't ever give up. I'll pray for you. :)

Awwwww!!!!

trust me hunny,
Your not the only one....
Everyone ( or almost everyone ) goes through depression.

Kick your self out of it!
Get real,
Life is way to short to sit around groaning and moaning about depression.

Get out there, find out what you like to do!
Find out what you want to do,
And just get out there and do it.

Don't worry about your life,
your too young for that....
Just live your life!

I hope I helped, And I hope I was your best answer!
XoXoXoXo
