I just got married by a JP and we never said til death do us part etc. She had a book and it had a list of different saying and we just picked the ones we liked one saying for vows one for exchanging rings. We picked the smallest one for exchanging vows cause I figured by then my husband would fall over if it was too long (he had collapsed at work a week before and was only a few days out of the hospital) The JP gave us a program of exactly what was said thankfully as I couldn't remember I was to busy watching his face to make sure he didn't fall again.
I hope that helps you.

I was married in court. They still say the whole thing, the only thing missing was the brides maids and all the fancy church stuff. I am still married to him. I think court marriages work.

My wife and I were married in court and we said all of those things. They even asked us if we wanted to exchange vows and we had other people at the wedding.

The only place I know of where those things are not included in your vows is in the Latter Day Saint temples. There you simply say "yes" (instead of I do) and the marriage is, for those of the faith, eternal.

We said something like "for the rest of you life." Death was not mentioned specifically.

yes, they will do the standard vows. if you ask ahead of time, they will say pretty much whatever you want.

what you say during the ceremony really doesnt matter, as long as the paperwork is correct and signed.
