I started doing intense cardio...and my husband says to see results you have to do it every day. Is it okay to do 25min of cardio 5 times a week? What kind of results should I see? (I have never done cardio and I usually do yoga or pilates)

Thanks :)

It depends on what type of cardio you are doing. If it is something that is joint-friendly, then it shouldn't be a problem. unless you are feeling pain. If it is tough on your joints, or you are feeling consistent muscle pain, then I think you put yourself at risk of injury by continually stressing the joints and muscles...to the point where you won't be able to work out at all.

Additionally, I believe it also depends what kind of shape you are initially in. If you are in fairly good shape, you will recover faster that someone that is really out of shape.

I think it boils down to what feels right to you and how comfortable you feel.

it does seem like you're working out pretty hard as it is, however the 2 days for 25 is a little short. also, intensify your workouts. if your heart rate isn't up you aren't working too hard. if your workouts are already intense, try switching up the workout. i'm a personal trainer and a boxing/martial arts instructor and rather than bring people on the treadmills to warm up before a workout, I'll bring in some punching mitts and have them do cardio that way. it's a shock to the muscles and the heart will get pumping RIGHT away trying to keep up with the arms rather than the legs. try it! also, as you probably already know, there is no such thing spot reducing. the problem areas (stomach, thighs), just need time to get rid of the excess fat. cardio, diet, and weight lifting should help get rid of that. hope i was some help! sorry, seeing your edit helps me out a bit. you're lifting weights too much. how long do you lift for and how intense is it? is it always the same routine? like i said, give your muscles a shock by changing up the workout every now and then. i change my routine every 4 weeks. by changing the routine i mean switching to a different workout for the same body part. for example, if i normally bench press to work out my chest and triceps in the beginning of my chest day, i'll switch to chair push ups or dumbell flies. lifting as often as you do may actually do more harm than good, because you have 3 main muscle groups (of course more than 3, but 3 that work together). the chest/triceps (and shoulders), the biceps and back (and shoulders), and the legs. and of course the ab muscles can be incorporated at any time of any workout, but don't overwork them, as they are needed in every workout. intensify your cardio and lifting methods, maybe make changes in your diet. and to give an actual answer to your question, you are doing enough cardio if you're pushing yourself. if you're not pushing yourself, intensify your cardio workout. if you are and you're not seeing any differences, try something new. boxing, kickboxing, basketball, running on a beach (if you have access), roller blading, etc. each incorporates different muscles and different types of movements in different planes of motion instead of the same old treadmill/elliptical. try it! hope i've helped

It's okay to do some form of cardio every day but if you are doing intense cardio everyday you may not be allowing your body to rest and rebuild any damaged tissue. It could result in injury. You can do three days of cardio and one or two days of yoga. The yoga will keep your muscles stretched and help to tone and balance your muscles. Cardio is good for burning calories during the workout and for strengthening your heart but to burn more calories even at rest, you should add some strength training.

Of course it's good. Lots of people do an hourish of cardio every second day, so you're just spreading it out and doing it every day. Make sure you watch your diet because if you're not eating healthy, the exercise won't do anything. The results you should see are weight loss everywhere. Cardio doesn't target a specific spot, and it should also increase muscles in your legs

Many people ask me how they can slim down. I recommend that people eat right and exercise. However, if they would like a little "help", I suggest using natural Hoodia (it's important to note that not all Hoodia works well, even if the bottle says "pure" or "standard").

The Hoodia sold at http://tinyurl.com/y389on is in my opinion the best Hoodia on the market. It's pure, has no side effects, and they give you a free 15 day sample (there is a $7.99 shipping and handling charge, but they also give you free recipe and diet guides). Fantastic results have been seen with this particular Hoodia.

I do it 7 days a week for 30 minutes. I do some in morning and some in evening. It will take time to see results. I have been doing this a week now and lost 3 lbs. I also watch how many calories I have each day. I try and have below 1200 calories a day.

First tell your husband to go to the gym every day with you, to see if it is a sensible choice!

4 to 5 times a week is enough.

If you spend more than a 1000 calories a week in aerobic exercise, you should see results.

And yes i think that Kick cardio is very intense...

Depending on your age and general fitness level, u may not SEE results from cardio. But your heart and circulatory system are going to be thankful for it. Most cardio machines are basically leg machines - treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike which is why results may not appear because legs are typically muscular anyway due to carrying your body weight.

That is very good.

Points to remember:
* Exercise has benefits if done in at least 10 minute blocks
* Exercise has benefits if there is 20 minutes total in a day (in at least 10 minute blocks)

Also, think about your target heart rate and the goal you are looking to achieve.

These two sites are both good. The second is easier, I think, to read but it's not loading for me right now.

Cardio Kick-boxing is more likely to be higher intensity (burning more calories), and will likely also strengthen your muscles a little, which is great for all sorts of reasons.

Here is the best tool you will need in any cardio workout!

Here is my example: 220 - age = ?

Take ? (which is your maximum heart rate) and
multiply it times 80% and 60%.

While doing for 25 minutes of cardio...try and stay between these numbers (60-80%) for the most optimal performance.

Oh, 3 days a week minimal.
