My cousin was over the other day and asked my sister if it was normal for her daughter to be trying to stick things up her. Her daughter is going to be 3 in july. When i first heard this my first thought was sexual abuse. I have heard of kids that young humping things and stuff like that but i dont think a 3 year old should know that its even possible to put things up there unless somebody has done it to them. The thing that worries me is that she acted like it was no big deal and hasnt even tried to talk to her daughter to see if she will tell her anything. Do you think im overreacting or is it possible shes just curious?

Just to be clear, im not talking about her sticking things in her nose, ears, mouth. Im talking about the other place that kids that young should not know about yet.

I think you should talk to a doctor. It's a very serious thing, abuse. You don't want to accuse someone if it's not true. That can cause soooo many problems. I'm sure you know this. I would talk to some kind of doctor or counsler and see what they think. I wouldn't think a kid would know baout any of that sorta thing either. Hope everything is ok, God Bless.

I am no expert in this area at all but I do think it is quite possible for a child to do this without having been abused. I know a friend who has a little boy who puts his crayons in his little butt. I don't know how he made the discovery but it is not a home where I would worry about abuse.

Of course you never know for certain so I would suggest to the Mom that she gently ask the little girl questions that are not leading in any way. I don't think that you can ever be too careful but I personally so not think it is cause for concern unless the child spends time away from the Mom a lot and in the care of people not known well and trusted.

well we see kids puting things in them all the time. like peas up there nose or in there ears. and everything goes in there mouth. on the other hand i would be worried and i would suggest that she talk to her daughter and watch her real close. if she thinks something might have happened to her then she should take her to the doctor right away.

Well, little kids are curious with their bodies.
They want to know why pee and poop comes out, and what's this hole?
Look, I can put my finger in it!
Let's see what else will fit!
I wouldn't worry too much about it, but would discourage her from putting things up ANY orifice in her body.
Of course, if you suspect abuse, you have to act upon that, too.

That is not normal, but her mom should ask her about it and make sure that no one has done anything to her. There should not be any curiosity about putting things up her at this age.

My daughter saw me stick a tampon up and then she tried to stick one up her - maybe she saw something similiar!@~
