Fried foods are pretty much out. Anything really oily should be avoided. You can eat what you want, however there are painful consequences if you are not careful.

I had my gallbladder out and i thought i was home free to eat anything....but thats not the case...i mean i still do eat whatever but when i get heartburn it's almost as bad as it was before i had my gallbladder out..i just can't stick to a diet like the one i was given by my doctor after surgery.........some examples :nothing gassy (lettuce,cabbage,brocolli)..nothing oily,fried,saucy.....you pretty much cant eat anything that tastes good..you could only eat plain foods,,,,no mayo,,ketchup,,salad dressing............good luck

My husband just had his gallbladder removed a few months ago. They told him that he can eat anything except hard fresh fruits and raw vegetables. The exception is bananas, watermelon, oranges, grapefruit, and very ripe pears with the skin off. If you aren't sure, check with your doctor and get a list.

When mine was removed doctor told me somethings I might not be able to eat but he said for most part everything should be ok. So at that time I ate just like I did before it was removed.

No fatty foods, no spicy foods. Bland foods only. No french fries of fried foods. No canned soups, they have a high fat content. Try to stay away from pre prepared store bought foods.
