When I stretch out my knees after being in a position with my knees bent they begin to hurt. I am only 17, what is going on?

If it hurts real bad, then check with your doctor. Maybe you are overdoing it.

This type of pain often occurs because because the knee cap doesn't track properly when the knee is bent, so the knee cap grinds over the joint. Tracking gets off-center when different muscles or ligaments are imbalanced. When the leg is bent, the knee cap is pulled toward tighter ligaments and stronger muscles. Stretching or exercising are necessary to correct this. Sometimes, the muscle imbalance is caused by an improper gait when walking - walking like duck or being pigeon toed.

This occurs to me too. I requested my physician approximately this and he instructed me that anything at the back of my knee is constricted or anything like that. He instructed me to streach it out, in any other case I might get surgical procedure to extend it.

your not streching enough, do that twice a day every day, then your joints will be more flexible to take on long term tension such as keeping them bent for long periods of time.
