I have had my bestfriend for over 7 years. We have grown up through highschool together and gone through a lot. After highschool we hung out all summer like normal. I hate to say it, but I have always had my stuff together more so than her, but finally she is getting her stuff together as well. I am moving out, but she isn't ready monitarily. She just got a job at 24 hour fitness and is gaining a lot of confidence she didnt used to have from her male co workers, who drool over her. She stares in the mirror and wants to work out and be around guys all the time. We used to just chill and talk about fun stuff, now she just talks about her work, and how they flirt, but are too ugly for her, and how she has this crush on some married guy. I don't know, I almost don't like being around her. Is it just me, or what? She seems immature, maybe I am just getting to old?

People mature, develop, grow, at different rates ...with different interests....as we do bytimes we grow closer and sometimes further apart...its just the way it is....once we become structured...its like an inmate being institutionalized.......some habits become....a way of life and sometimes in doesnt include our projections, beliefs or wants and desires.... take the best of whatever moments are still similar to both of you and live on!!

Good luck!!!

Once, in school, I had the best friend in the whole world, and we did everything together. She ditched me because she wanted to hang out with the popular girls, and I didn't want to hang around at lunchtime and talk about guys or shoes. I don't think you are getting old, but you are both probably growing apart and losing the similarities you used to have. Keep in touch, however, because people keep changing and sometime in the future you will probably be able to be good friends again.

as people grow older, we change and grow as a person and we may not have anything in common with the people we were once close to. Its normal. We may not like it but it happens. I went out with one of my best friends from years ago one night and she was just a really different person. We spoke maybe twice after that.

yes, you are getting to the point to where you are becoming more serious about things in life wheras she has yet to learn and because of this, she seems immature to you but you have to remember, you were like that too so everyone is diferent as far as when they finally realize they need to grow up. You are at that point, she may not be yet
