The exact time depends on the size and the water content of the scallops, but it's usually 3 minutes or so. Be sure to undercook a little because the residual heat in the meat itself will continue to cook it. You just have to cut one open and see. It will turn chewy if you over cook it.

Just until they are opaque and not a second more! Depending on the size, this is usually less than 3 minutes total. It is always better to undercook scallops, rather than overcook.

You can actually eat them raw if fresh but I would say fry in a little butter for 2-3 minutes and spoon the butter over them. They will go white(ish) when cooked but can be eaten slightly under done.

dip them in milk, then roll em in bread crumbs

proceed to place them into a deep fryer

fry untill golden brown

mmmmmmmmmmm good
