i imagine she's in love with the adorable little body structure of the VW. the turn away is aspects availability and relative pricing. in case you individuals might want to spring for a later style VW with a water cooled motor you'd be way ahead of the game. Please understand the older ones were all ordinary transmission fashions. She's were given to comprehend that shell be living with clutching and shifting each of the time. I labored with an illustration painter who had one and the interior warmth in cool climate is a huge minus. in case you stay in northern climates and favor to wrestle nasty snowy climate they're a hand-finished without dedicated (studded) snow tires. personally i have had very real looking success with the Mercury Sable and Ford Tauaus. we've owned 5 contained in the previous 18 yrs. they're a very predictable coping with automobile and do particularly nicely in both rain or snow providing you pick a good good all season tire. I honestly have options in that section also. Your safer with more effective metal round you. in case you'll have listed your budget i can make some open minded options. i'm no longer married to Fords by way of a lengthy shot. My spouse has an 04 Camry which we've has 0 trouble with. My coronary heart bleeds Chevrolet red and that i'm waiting round for the recent Camaro. The Pontiac G6 is a helpful sized automobile besides because the smaller Buick's. i think the Impala is basically too enormous in spite of the undeniable fact that it truly is an theory. no be counted what off-shore automobile you purchase aspects are going to be extreme priced and an excellent type of the time very not hassle-free to locate.

a lot of good points given already. teenagers usually do wreck or at least damage their 1st cars. something with little power, cheap, old, and stands a good chance of surviving a wreck. maybe an old volvo or subaru. actually, any car can be robbed of its horsepower with a throttle blocker. i dated a girl once when i was a teenager who had this car with a V8 that could barely get up a hill. i notice how much her dad grinned when she asked him to work on it. he'd always say he'd get around to it but never did. he had put a throttle block on it and never told her. i looked under the hood and saw it one day but said nothing. i knew as well as her father did that it was doing a good job of keeping her from killing herself. might be a good thing to think about. also, although it would be good to learn to drive a car with a manual transmission, it might be a better idea to wait on that. an automatic transmission is easier to drive, allowing the young driver's attention to remain on the road. another thing that might help is to make the teen pay for insurance, at least in part. if they get a ticket, don't pay more-let them make up the difference. good luck

1989 Ford Escort. Because I hit two cars (fender benders) and a light pole and the only thing that happened was the bumper broke (half of it is still hanging on for dear life.) Their cars and the pole were unharmed. You could probably get a good working one for $500 and insurance is cheap (I only paid $50 every 3!!! months [good grades and Driver's Ed helped though].)

Well, teenagers crash A LOT. I'm a teenager and my sister is one also. Teenagers make mistakes. I wouldn'y go with an expensive car yet. Like I would get some car that I know a few dings wouldn't get me in trouble.

Any 4 cylinder Volvo, or a 1994-1997 Volvo 850. They are well built, usually well maintained by their owners, are among the safest cars on the road, and among the least expensive to insure!

a Honda Civic '92-'95 with under 200,000 miles on it.
I'm 17, I got my car like 3 months ago and I've already put 3,000 miles on it.
Civics are really easy to drive, and they are smaller but not too small and do good in crashes.
Civic types:
LX > (the one I have) 4 door, slower,
EX > Duel Overhead Camshafts (DOHC VTECH) they are faster, better.
DX > THE WORST. DO NOT RECCOMEND. p.o.s.
CRX > small, 2 door, not so good in crashes, good on gas.
LS > Like the LX, but nicer.
SI > Nice like the LS, eccept it is a hatchback, VERY good on gas, fun to drive.
Hondas are good because you can run them to the ground.
They are also very reasonably priced and insurance is not too expensive.
12 galln tanks, usually priced between 1,000-9,000 $
good luck.

Anything that starts.
Sorry, couldn't resist. My first car didn't even do that very often, at least for the first few years that I owned it...
