why is mixin plain potato chips with vanila ice cream so popular? who else like it?

i loves mixin vanila ice cream wit plain potato chips. also vanila ice cream wit hard pretzels. why is this so popular why it taste so good?

Wow! I used to do that ages ago.

I think it's two things...

You get a contrast in textures. Sort of like croutons in a salad.

Also, more importantly, the layer of flavors between the sweet and salt. Plus the salt enhances the flavor of the ice cream, similar to sprinkling a little salt on watermelon... which to me made the watermelon salty, yuck! But people do that.

It is mostly the texture. Ice cream is real soft and when u put a crunch in it it makes it taste good. Sounds good I'm gonna go try it.

I like to dip french fries in a vanilla shake, and I think this is about the same thing. I was guessing it was the salty/sweet thing, but there must be more to it. Maybe it's also the starchy/dairy thing.

I have never heard of that. It sounds good because it is like the sweet/salty mix that a lot of people like.

i think that's really icky - do you remember those chocolate covered pretzels? ew. - i know loads of people who like dipping mcdonalds fries in the sundaes. yick. but i do like mixing salt and vinegar crisps with plain salted popcorn. why haven't they made salt and vinegar popcorn yet? and also if you eat a piece of milk (pref. cadbury) chocolate and then straight after eat a salt and vinegar crisp (pref. tayto) it;s damn good
