I'm really glad that you asked that and I hope that you are serious.
No it is not hard to discover God. All that you have to do is believe that God exist and trust in your heart that He is your almighty Lord. All you have to do is pray to Him and ask Him to forgive you for all of the sins that you have commited in your life and to start over and follow a life toward God. You will slip and will not be perfect. I am by NO means perfect and I have things that I have done that I am not proud of but I have asked God to cleanse me of these sins and to forgive me of them and He has. If you can do this then you can discover God and become a Christian. Please reply to me via email or this and tell me the decision that you have made.

Yes, it is hard to discover god. Things that don't exist are very good at hiding.
It's much easier to just get yourself emotionally worked up about religion so that you can convince yourself that you've found a god.

Just about as hard as it is to discover Quetzalcoatl.
P.S. This means that it's really rather difficult to "discover" something that doesn't exist.

No, just pray and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. It is best to read the Bible, check out this bible study at www.ttb.org. God reveals Himself to those who seek Him. Search for God like you would search for treasure. He will show Himself to you, in ways you least expect. God Bless, when you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. Its awesome!

Not just difficult -- impossible. We have original sin and therefore do not seek God, He is the author and finisher of salvation.
