Talk to your bride in private and don't worry she will take care of the rest.

The sooner the better first of all. With as little pain as possible, and with pure honesty. It's gonna hurt the person either way, but how you tell them will help. If they are not the one, you will be doing both of you a favor in the long run. Think of all the mess a divorce will bring! If there is someone else, I would probably leave that part out, I see no need to hurt someones feeling that bad. You could always pursue that relationship later if that's the case. The law states the engagement ring be given back!

Yikes! First tell fiance. Then rush and cancel all the wedding plans and get back any money that you can. Next send out a card to all the guests informing them the wedding has been called off for personal reasons.

talk to your spouse and families and then send out notices to everyone that was invited...they have formats online you can go by to cancel a wedding...good luck and I am really sorry...if you have received any gifts you are suppose to return those as well

There is a right way to do this so be sure to check out this site...also do it in person with your family and fiance. You need to call everything that has been reserved but you are supposed to send cards out to those that were sent invitations...it also helps with all the questions as to why this and why that...

With as much notice as possible.

If the wedding is only days away, start calling people right away. If you are too upset, get your friends or family to start calling for you.

If the wedding is weeks away, consider sending a notice out to everyone on your mailing list. Something simple like "John and i have mutually agreed to cancel our wedding. Thank you for your understanding and support."

You'll have to return any gifts you've received to date as well.

Kudos to you for realizing it wasn't right BEFORE the wedding!

Start off by telling the person you are suppose to be marrying. then call everyone you sent out invitations to and tell them that for whatever reason the wedding will not be taking place.

After you've talked to your fiance and everything, send out a card to everyone you've invited that says "The wedding of X and X will not be taking place." That's it. You don't owe anyone an explanation.

Before the day of the wedding pleeeease? lol Actually have a discussion with your companion explain the problem and your reason be honest. It makes no sense making a commitment to someone you don't want to be with.

I'm sort of going through the same thing. I'm going to remarry my x hubby on Valentine's day. That's our original anniversary. However, every time I think about it, I get a sick feeling in my stomach. I truly love him, but, I think I love him a lot better not being married to him. I don't think I'm one that should be tied down with a marriage certificate. Very good luck to you. ~~~

Depends on far you are into the planning.

If you've already sent out invitations, then you need to call everyone who got an invitation and tell them that the wedding has been cancelled. Also call all of your vendors and cancel everything. Return what you can, but it won't be much.

If you haven't sent out invitations, then just cancel everything and let it spread by word of mouth that the wedding is off.
