My kitten has just gone into heat- we were going to get her fixed, but we thought she was younger than she apparently is. How long will it last and is it still okay to get her fixed once she's done? Thanks in advance!

Ugh, I know your pain! My cat went into heat a day or two after I got her from the humane society, it was terrible. Aside from the yowling and butt-rubbing, she was always "pointing" herself at me, as though there was anything I could do!

It usually lasts a few days but it can last as long as a couple weeks. By all means, have her spayed once she's out of heat. You can have it done while she's in heat; but consult your vat, as it may cost more because it is more difficult.

there is relatively not a superb deal you're able to do for it. some cats are in simple terms in warmth for an afternoon or 2, different cats will bypass into warmth, and could stay in warmth until they are bred. i could start up saving what money you may to have her spayed ASAP (I understand each so often you in simple terms have not got the money to have that performed) or see in case you qualify for something called Care credit. this is in actuality a scientific provider credit card that facilitates you to pay off the vet bill over the years. there is interest, whether this is not outrageous. previous saving money for it, you will in simple terms would desire to submit with it until you may get her spayed or until she is going out of warmth. i understand cats like which could be stressful, whether it won't final constantly. wish this facilitates.

If your cat hasnt mated, she will go into heat as soon as every two to three weeks, several times each year, until she either mates or is spayed. Your kitty will be in heat for one or two days at least. But she wont come out of it fully until you have her spayed, which is good to see that your having her spayed!

:)

Yes, you can still have her fixed. Call your vet and tell them that the cat just went into heat. They'll be able to tell you when you can set up a spay appointment.

And if you don't already, keep her inside and away from any unaltered cats until she's fixed. And then, move her inside permanently. : )

It last a couple of weeks. By all means get her fixed as soon as possible. If you don't, she will continue to come into heat until she is mated.

depend on the cat.sometimes 4days or at times 7to 9 days...once the cat is fixed you;ll never hear that sad whining;and feet trying to stand still, looks painful and it probably is....soon as she;s done go to the vet and get kitty;s operation going........LOL
