...know very much about those other religions--other than the fact that the people believe differently then they do and that supposedly makes them bad?

Oh come on, isn't this entire site nothing but one group dumping on another? The rabid atheists on here are just as bad as the fundies, always insulting those with faith for not being as "intelligent" or "educated" as they are. What makes them any different than the fundies? Aren't they basically insulting anyone who doesn't agree with them, just like the fundies? I'm christian, but not a fundie, and I don't have patience for either of them. As far as I'm concerned, both groups are self-righteous hyprocrites.

No, they don't know anything about other religions. Being a Pagan has brought me in contact with people from all different walks of life and the most outrageous ones are the Fanatics. Especially those that claim those of us of other religions are "Satanic"... yet if you ask them one thing about these other religions they will say "I don't need to know about the religion to know it's Satanic". If that isn't the biggest admittance of ignorance, short of coming right out and saying "I'm ignorant but I hate you anyway", I don't know what is.

I don't think they do. If you read what they say, most of them are too afraid of anything different to make the effort to properly learn. I've even seen some say that even being curious about anything that isn't Christian makes them in danger from Satan.

fundamentalists are in cults being brainwashed. They cannot open their mind or hearts long enough to hear about other religions or other beliefs because they believe theirs is the only right way.

I don't dump on other people, you go ahead and believe whatever you want, if you want to believe that pink elephants are good for you, go ahead. However, if you ask me what I think, then don't squawk that I am shoving my religion down your throat.

They can't learn about them! Then they would open their mind up to Satan. Condemn them sight unseen is the good fundy way.

My brother-in-laws favorite expression. "If you keep an open mind, people will throw a lot of garbage in." He's a pastor. Lucky me huh?

Laptop Jesus, I imagine your family reunions are about as tense as mine. o_O

As a Wiccan, I'm regularly accused of worshipping in Satan. When I explain that we don't worship Satan, I'm told that we DO... we just don't REALIZE it. How can you argue with that?

No, that last part you said is enough for the small minded @ssholes. They condemn something they one read one page of, if even.

Ah, they're just atheists like me. They know all other deities are nonexistent... I just go one god further. Maybe one day they will too.

Ooooo ouch, looks y'all don't like to be told that you're atheists too. Tough luck, kiddos. You're without belief in gods. You're atheists.
