You might be able to take a credit for part of your tuition. Look into the Hope Credit if you're in your first two years of education past hight school, otherwise check out the Lifetime Learning credit.

1) Take a spelling class

2) There is no such thing as thing as "claiming as a student" though you may receive a credit for tuition paid.
