Perhaps they're not comfortable with the way they look. It's possible that they would prefer to remain anonymous!

Because many people are using the Internet to develop the character they lack in real life and therefore don't want people to know what they look like. Some are ashamed of their looks; others are doing things that they are ashamed of and don't want to be identified...let's face it: the Internet is simply a microcosm of what goes on in real life without the embarassment and the immediate danger.

I just thought that this was a lot easier then trying to decide which pic I like better to upload. No cropping or any of that necessary. Plus its fun. Its simple, and you can change the outfit of your avatar a lot faster than you can change your regular clothes. LOL

To remain Anon. Many don't want their words associated with their face...and minors shouldn't upload real pics regardless (safety reasons)...
Not sure what that has to do with Singles & Dating though, since this isn't a dating site (in spite of some trying to use it as one).

I dont use my real pic bc creating an avatar seems more fun and u get to show your creativity and faster and easier to change than a real pic. Plus I only share my pic with people I know and trust.

I think it is just a privacy issue, at least with me. I have friends at work who used my account to ask ridiculous questions so I was embarrassed to keep my pic up there. Overall though I think people just like their privacy.

because they don't want people to know who they are and some times pictures can be used to identify a criminal if the person was in trouble with the law.

I have pics on my 360 profile just not on here....I like my avatar! I had fun designing it as close to me as possible...
