As a Christian I don't find it necessary to defend my faith or defend God and His Word. He is God. He can do it Himself. It's up to me to keep my eyes and trust on Him. Stop worrying so much and stop being so offended. Jesus payed the price and took all your humiliations upon Himself.
We are to give Him all our burdens and let Him carry them.
A " spirit of offense", meaning people who are offended very easily, could be very well self righteous or have self pride. I suggest you ask the Lord yourself why this all offends you so much. Usually it is something in us that God is bringing to the surface that needs to be addressed.Another thing Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.

It happens because so many Christians get overly excited about it... I think Christians and Christianity are attacked so often and so viciously because CHRISTIANS make it easy to attack...
Most Christians I know wouldn't miss a minute of his or her favorite weekly or daily television show, and can tell you about each character in great detail. But do not spend much if any time in Gods word.
When faced with questions regarding Christianity most can only give a very superficial answer... Worse when asked a difficult question... They/we tend to get just as if not nastier than anyone else. That comes from not studying and knowing Gods word as deeply as we do the afore mentioned t.v. characters. Often times we Christians do a much more effective job of discrediting our faith then any non-believer ever did or could.
Want proof??? Watch the responses some "Christians" give on this very forum when Christianity is attacked. Not very Christ-like sometimes. Case in point "Do you JUST wanna show your IQ?"
Most of us Christians call God the King of the universe, and say that he is the ruler of our lives; but we don't treat Him that way...
We can all do Christianity a favor... for every five minutes you spend reading and responding to questions in this (or any other) forum, spend one minute studying Gods Word... For some that will be a 100% improvement... But each must examine him or her self... You'd be amazed, after some time in the Word you/we will be so much more prepared to give intelligent, factual and meaningful answers to questions, and be less bothered by folks that are just trying to rattle your cage...
Anyway... that's why I think Christian questions are often times answered in a demeaning way...
Peace and God Bless...

First off, you can't even write, so you might want to stop making comments about IQ.
Secondly, this site is called Yahoo! Answers. It is open to all Yahoo! members to post questions or answer questions. You do not have the right to dictate who is 'allowed' to answer your questions. Also if you ask a stupid question in a dumb confrontational manner as you seem to, you are going to get some answers you probably don't like.
If you are such a good Christian, why are you being so rude and confrontational? Didn't Jesus teach you to turn the other cheek? Didn't Mathew 7:1 tell you not to judge others?

I may be demeaning if I see the same question posted 10 times a day, other than that, I try not to be demeaning.

Oh dear.
People don't answer others in a demeaning way because of their religious beliefs. The usually answer stupid questions in a demeaning way. A respectful question draws respectful responses. Ditto ignorant questions.

Oh, so you're saying that regardless of the fact that I have taken 2 years of theology classes, because I am not Xtian, I am not "allowed" to answer a Xtian question? If the question deserves to be answered in a snarky way, then I will do so!However, I'm sure you will have noticed that there are people out there who are not Xtian, but are far more educated on the subject than your average believer, so don't be so uptight.

Do you mean demeaning like the way many Christians treat gay/lesbian issues? Or the way they treat pro-evolution posters despite having only the vaguest idea as to what they are talking about?
There are intolerant people on both sides of the theological aisle. While I disagree with the behavior altogether, I'd suggest that its foolish to expect only one party to clean up their act when your own is just as dirty.

Is there any other way to answer it? I had an attempted brain washing as a child and might be able to shed a little light on the subject for you. I TRY do do it WITHOUT capitalizing every other WORD though. You're welcome.
