No, most, if not all Camrys are assembled in US from parts from all over the world. I believe the only major parts that come from Japan are engines and transmissions. If this is an important decision factor for you, you should read the sticker. It spells out the local content, parts from Japan, and other parts of the world in percentage. The last I've seen, about 30% of parts are from Japan.

For those people who are saying money goes back to Japan, have you ever seen the same information for "domestic" vehicles? You'd be surprised.....

Toyota is assembled here from imported parts and all your $$$$ goes back to Japan.....
Its a way for them to get around trade limits. They can only import so many vehicles, but can bring in all the parts they want.
Parts+ Parts= Cars

Depends on your definition of 'made'.

Most of the parts for the Camry are made in Japan.

The vehicle is assembled in the US from the parts manufactured in Japan.

So yes, the car is made in Japan, and no, it is made here. Take your pick.

Many Camrys are still made in Japan.You can tell by the 1st digit of the VIN
J=Japan
1=USA
2=USA
3=Mexico
4=USA
5=USA
S=UK
1st digit indicates country where vehicle final assembly took place.
