The only way to accomplish this is by doing the same thing over and over again. Create a habit. I'm having the same freaking problem... so I made a time for myself to study. I'd study AP European History from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm and do the stuff I want to do for a while... then I'd study for Chemistry from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm then I'd eat and study till 10:00 pm for AP Calculus! At first, it was rough, but I worked in a room where I know I wouldn't be distracted by music, TV, computer, the bed (I usually go to sleep while studying) and after a week, I finally got the habit of doing it. Now I don't even WANT to watch TV. It's really weird... but you have to be really determined to do stuff like that or else you're not going to go anywhere. I hope that helps! =)

Make flash cards. They re-enforce what you have read.
First make an outline of what you read. Then write all definitions of what you've read. Pick out the key subjects to the topic that you have read. Write these down on a sheet of paper. Next put the information on flash cards. By doing this process you have studied the information at least 3 times. Your interest is you have a goal of just more than retaining the info in your short term memory. You may put an idea or clue on the bottom that will help you better define the answer and remember it,too..only on the answer side though...if you have to cheat.
Put the cards in an envelope. You can secure them w/ a rubber band. Mark the envelope which chapter / date / topic
Next. Study the cards at other times. While waiting for a bus. While standing in line at the grocery store. etc. You can mix them up so you don't remember them in any specific order.
Make a test for yourself or better yet. Let someone else make a test for you.
This makes it more interesting.
Save the cards for your finals. You will already have the materials you'll need..besides what your teacher gives you. You'll definitely know your stuff.

Plan your studying time; sort out any thing that needs doing or is a distraction before hand. Decide on what you wish to study and how much you wish to cover......then study for 30mins or so and take a 5 min break. Do this for 2-3 hours.
If you are panic cramming then I don't think I can help you.

My interest span varies by way of day. each so often, I honestly have a lengthy interest span; different cases, I honestly have a very short interest span. all of it has to do with how i'm feeling that diverse day. Cheers!

Its all to do with behaviour and maturity. Be mature and close the curtains, put away all distractions. Look at what will motivate you.........do you want to be a failure all your life? Well then!! get to it.
